So, Rogers Scholars is going on a trip to Cornerstone Prep this Thursday. Make sure to

A. Turn in your signed field trip forms tomorrow.

B. Have your blog post about the article done before Thursday.


For those of you who willl not be able to attend or even those who will be attending, check out the Cornerstone Prep website: http://cornerstoneprepmemphis.org/ . It has some great videos and information about the program and how it stands out from other schools.

Important Announcements for this week!

1. Please save the date for November 15th. Details to follow but we have a possible chance to have a really great experience in the Binghampton area to learn about the Binghampton Development Corporation, as well as work directly with some 1st - 3rd grade students at Cornerstone Prep.

2. We have a mandatory meeting next Thursday, October 25th at noon in the theater lobby. Please be in attendance.

3. There is a great opportunity next week to see a thriving partnership between health and wellness, urban farms, and the education of children in that area.

4. There is a chance to see a fascinating film about education in Finland and why their system in thriving. That is from 4:30-6:00 on Tuesday, October 23rd in Sanders. I plan on attending, and I think you will find it to be very interesting.

5. There is a chance to serve through Christ Feeds on November 3rd. Please see Anna Amagliani about this opportunity to serve together.

We will be discussing the topic for the month of October as well as the activities that will take place.

Brooks' Taps into City's 'Soul'

Hey, y'all! 

Here's an interesting article we picked out about the Brooks exhibitions we're about to see. Please make sure to write a blog post in advance about your thoughts on this article and the exhibit in general. Keep the theme of "what Memphis means to you" in mind, since that is our theme for the year.

Also a few reminders about the trip:
- Please make sure to give your form to Ms. Gianella's as soon as possible.
- Please meet outside of the gym parking lot at 12:00
- Make sure to bring your own lunch/games for when we're at the park.
